FAQ's Per the DAV
Service-connected disabled veterans who have lost employment as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible. This includes veterans who are self-employed as contractors or small business owners.
Follow the “Apply Here” link above, follow the DAV’s application instructions, and be sure to complete the entire application and provide the required documentation.
To verify your status as a service-connected disabled veteran, you will need to submit a copy of a valid VA identification card or any other proof of service-connection from eBenefits.
To verify your hardship, you will need to submit proof of unemployment such as a termination letter or proof that you’ve applied for unemployment benefits. If self-employed, you will need to submit proof of lost income.
No. Being a member is not a requirement to receive any of the no-cost services DAV provides veterans.
Up to $250 depending on available funds. This relief will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Yes. This relief is available to one veteran per household.
DAV will send you an e-mail to verify they have received your application and if more information is needed to make a decision.
You should receive a check via U.S. mail roughly 2 weeks after receiving your notice of approval.
